Battling endometriosis, a mysterious chronic disease affecting 10% of the female population worldwide, Muir was forced to scale back her touring career but she never stopped writing songs – using music to both channel and process triumphs and setbacks.
The Tides, a self-imposed 2-week recording challenge for beloved misfit melodies has Muir at the helm as engineer, multi-instrumentalist and mixer, crafting songs like sculptures with a peculiar ebb and flow. This album is dedicated to The Endometriosis Network Canada who supported her throughout the darkest times and to the memory of former CBC journalist Ange-Aimee Woods – her friend and arts advocate.
Known for her epic live performances, Muir has also collaborated frequently with award-winning director Kara Blake, turntablist DJ Kid Koala, and interactive design company Daily Tous Les Jours. She continues to write private commissions through her "Chanson-O-Gramme" custom love song service and engages communities as an artist-in-residence (Fischhaus - Wichita, FL!GHT Gallery - San Antonio).
