I wrote this tune when I was living out in NYC. It started with just an observation on our drinking habits and grew from there. I remember I was headed back home one night when I saw this girl who was a little too drunk and just looked so defeated. Now, I don't really know why but you could see there was an overwhelming sadness about her.
