The New Breed Society is gracious in defeat,I mean Ourstage has allowed us to reach people who probably would’ve never heard us. We held down number one for three consecutive days only to lose steam on the hip-hop channel and come in fourth…that sucks but hey that’s how it works especially when you are going up against tough competition….now here comes what kinda bothers me,we just recently discovered Ourstage now correct me if I’m wrong but has anyone from the hip-hop,gangsta rap/rap (which seems sorta redundant) or alt.hip-hop ever won. For a lot of the artist on here Rap is our voice..hip-hop is our vehicle and while Ourstage is doing a great job at helping the underground artist I get the feeling that some in it’s community may be stopping our movement,did you guys see how low 410’s “I’m a G” was in the music finals. we were one of the countless people involved in Quinn’s partyline and all was cool (until I noticed that no hip-hop was being played..or it was’nt while I was in the room) anyway while being in the room with my fellow artist I noticed that someone asked “R There any hip-hoppers in the room lol” was there a need for the “lol” text total disrespect and congrats to “Squid” on the win but I am certain that the person that said that voted for them at least 50 Times if it went up against 410 or the person that represented Gangsta Rap. In closing I will be surprised if hip-hop takes it all one of these days on Ourstage I mean with people that obviously have prejudices against our music it would be a miracle…oh by the way I voted for the R&B song…that was for some reason placed against one of the hardest rock songs I have ever heard in my life and only 3% agreed with my vote…see I had a reason for that title all along.
