I just uploaded a new song. “The Rush Closes In” was done completely on www.kompoz.com. It’s a pretty cool site with some amazing musicians and engineers. It was so much fun watching this one come together and I am very proud of it. This is probably not the final mix but I was too excited about the song to let it sit. Special thanks go to Bjorn, Pascal, Billy, David and Rab from Kompoz who helped so much in the making of this song. Hope you all like it. It’s definitely one of my favorites.

I posted a new song last night. This one is pretty special to me. A good friend of mine on Songramp wrote the lyrics and Julie Layne Bloeth did the original version of this and I was truly touched by the sentiment in the song, not to mention the beautiful piano and Jules vocals. In April of this year I was at the annual gathering for this website and they mentioned wanting it to be a duet. I knew that I absolutely wanted to be a part of that and asked if I could track the male vocal for it. They graciously allowed me to and It was a great experience. The lady who wrote it is Named Diane Ruilliere along with David Levesque who not only wrote the music but performed it on this version. Julie Layne Bloeth is the female vocalist.

I’m Derek and I am pretty new to OurStage. So far it seems like a great community of some amazingly talented people. I have posted a new song recently that I am really proud of (“Your Personality Split”). It was written by a friend of mine on Songramp.com by the name of Jeff Mondak. All the instrumentation and the production was done by another friend from Songramp named Rob Campbell except for the harmonica which was laid down by Eddie Minyard. The vocals were recorded at Chigger Tracks in Nashville, Tn. Hope you all enjoy it. Thanks for the warm welcome I have already received. I look forward to listening to a lot more amazing music.
