My Braddigan Experience!

So, imagine waking up to an early 9am phone call (hey- that’s early for a college kid!) asking you if you could make it to Boston the next day. Out of total shock and complete confusion I said yes after I actually started listening to the guy on the other end- I was a winner of OurStage’s Braddigan contest! A guest and I were given the opportunity to watch, listen, meet and hang out with Braddigan from Dispatch at the Roxy Night Club in Boston. Naturally as a huge Dispatch fan, I was pumped.

The next day my guest Eric and I took the 1 ½ hour drive to Boston to meet Alyssa, Scott, Quinn and a few others (some of OurStage’s coolest people!). As we waited for an opportunity to chat with Brad the other contest winner Marc arrived. We got to hang out and watch the behind the scene’s action of what was going on around us. It was really pretty cool (and it was awesome watching Brad interact with everyone on stage). After we were given time to get to know Alyssa, Marc and I got to officially meet Brad. We were about to start shooting the video segment when the other band (Adam Ezra) began their sound check- making it too loud to film. Lucky for us, we all got to sit and chat with Brad. He shared some of his stories and pictures of Nicaragua and was a really awesome down-to-earth guy.

Throughout the rest of the day we were able to ask questions, interact with the band, watch the sound check and be part of the crew for the day. By the time the show started it was pretty weird being followed by cameras but hey, I guess we got used to it by the end. The show was amazing and Braddigan was inspirational. Onstage sharing some of the stories we had gotten to talk about earlier and jammin’ to his music was more than any fan could ask for.

Brad was an amazing guy. Down to earth and comical, he honestly wanted to hang with us. His music is amazing and his stories and the background of each song is inspirational. I left the evening wanting more. More Braddigan. More Nicaragua. More of whatever it is life has to offer to me. Brad got me thinking about the impact I can have on people and how to start making them positive and uplifting. He truly inspired me.

He always shares a favorite verse from the bible and I’d like to share it with you… EPH 3:20 “Now to the one who can do infinitely more than all we can ask or imagine according to the power that is working among us.”

A HUGE thank you goes out to everyone involved in making the Braddigan experience so amazing. Everyone at OurStage, Brad & his band mates, James (their manager), Eric (my guest who join in on the adventure), Marc (the other fan who joined us from France!) and everyone else I got to meet, shake hands, and watch as the day went on!

Be sure to check out the video (yes, I look like a sun-burnt excited 12-year-old, I’m aware) but the fact of the matter is that it’s a glimpse of the gift Marc and I were given and the experience we had. Enjoy!
