ANOTHER NEW MONTH-MORE NEW WINNERS-OURSTAGE IS "THE CRIB" FOR FUTURE STARS AND SUPERSTARS

One HIT ourstagers, ONE SONG on the airways and on WORLD charts top 20s, that’s all we need. Ourstage.com is providing this great highway to success so be greatful ourstagers, because I am. Even though none of my songs made the top 20 this month, I’m still happy that lots of my friends did; Lori been the most impressive with 2 wins and Jennifer Thomas with a top 10 and another número uno are OUTSTANDING ARTIST OF THE MONTH. I’m sniffing an AWARD/GRAMMY nominations with this two artists coming soon. Wait until they “HIT” the Billboard Charts.

Paul Mollo’s “Tierra Buena” and Peter Moore’s “Attitude Positive” are perfect 10’s.

I can see ourstage.com IS getting better and better everyday. The artist quality on ourstage is at a “higher” level, much better than any radio station or any site out there.

More GRAMMY stuuf too.

Dan is doing an impressive job, I owed him some of my today’s status in NY just because I was right about ourstage’s musical quality. The “I TOLD GUYS” is “STILL ON”unbelievers.
The only negative comment I have received was that there is no classical channel. Why? Good question for Dan…lol

THE CLASSICAL ARE CALLING!

p.s. I’m smelling GRAMMY material here on ourstage.com

GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE QUARTER FINALISTS!

The Month is almost over ourstagers and thx GOD we all having fun.

Usually I had may TOP 20 and my TOP 10 best Latin/ Tropical channels…I have been very busy lately and had to changed well this time I’m going for the possible TOP 5 songs/artists combination I like the best. Is kind of hard to choose a winner this month because of the great quality artists competing.

My new goal came with more responsibilities and is taking away a lot of my leisure time. My job have changed a bit lately and is a bit more challenging because involves more artists to choose from. I’m almost not counting myself anymore….lol. Need to be unselfish to make a winner.

My 5 Latin quarterfinalist favorites of this month are:

“Tierra Buena”- Paul Mollo and Esteban Guajardo “Majadito” – Bergman Pazs “Pasión De Mujer – Lily Vazquez “Una Canción Para Tí” – Charlie Magdaleno Angel En Tus Ojos – Szed

My 5 Tropical quarterfinalist favorites of this month are:

“Cuando Baja La Marea” – Alexa “Aprenderán El Idioma” – Grupo Tránsito “Un Tonto Que Sé Equivocó” – Victor Escalona “Attitude Positive” – Peter Moore Por Tú Ausencia” – Sue-K

Good Luck to my partners/friends competing and to all of you for been the best 24 hours a day.

To Save Some One- You Need To Be Healthy- Been Sick Is Not A JoKe- Lets "SAVE LATIN AMERICA" cheap video

IS DEMOCRACY REALLY FOR THE PEOPLE? Is it for us ? Is OUR GOVERNMENT ours for REAL.
DO VOTES REALLY COUNT? Ourstage votes are more honest than gov. votes of the 3rd kind.
Do they take our needs and opinions serious? What I’ve seen on the road is more GREASE, GREED & LIES than EVER .

Check the cheap video about music, kids, greasy food and expensive GREEDY promoters

You can’t fool a 10 year old KID no MORE. My Dylan asked me about the WALL STREET Meltdown.

I’ve been getting a lot of e-mails from DR asking me what’s going ON.
I told Dylan that I’m more afraid of getting food poisoning that Wall Street stuff. I’m in the entertainment business, my trade will work in China or Australia, but I love it here and the Caribbean Islands is my home too. A bad habit of mine like greasy food…lol .

I’m a Lou Dobbs FAN and he promotes that issue all the time. Bill O’Reilly is cool too, kind of funny. Are these great americans WRONG?

You now what Ourstagers, for the first time in my life I think we are in trouble. USA is in lots of trouble. Trouble we aren’t used too, we need to HELP each other I know GOD Protects All of US but all this billions, trillions and zilllions of lost dough is not healthy.
85 billion to bail out AIG is not a JOKE. “A DEAD FISH IS UNHEALTHY TO EAT
AIG is a FISHY business, BAD business. Evil or Brainless if they didn’t see this coming.
Bailing out gangsters, lesser evils and thieves is a big NO, I don’t think we gonna make any money back from them (AIG) or for the WARS we got into. Lets Hope for the best.
We say in Dominican Republic that when USA sneezes the World has a COLD.
Now that USA is getting a FLU imagine how sick the WORLD is gonna be.

How we got into all this TROUBLE? Can we blame the Republicans? Are We Guilty Too?

Don’t Worry! Lets see if we can “Fix the Problem”.

I have proof about how “Latin People’s Health” is in trouble, I have cheap footage.

SAVE LATIN AMERICA maybe is about health but the” Festival” was about eating unhealthy . The shows were good not great, but the motive and promo was about HEALTH? (login at save latin america, inc.)
Coming Tonight ” Mario G’s Cheap Video” about The UNHEALTHY FESTIVAL or a better word is “The GREASE FESTIVAL

“THE RADIO FRIENDLY SONG

WHAT SONG IS RADIO FRIENDLY?

WHAT TO DO IF YOUR SONG IS PLAYING ON THE RADIO SOONER THAN EXPECTED

Any well produced or finished song has a radio friendly status until is NOT “radio friendly”. How do you know is RADIO FRIENDLY if you don’t send it to a radio station DJ or programmer. Tu put a song on the radio you need an artist and the song first, then you do the rest and master the track. FINITO!
Next! Stash the song and KEEP WORKING on more songs until you get enough for closing up the project. In the mean time, your are sending 4 of your of your best songs to be evaluated by DJs from various radio stations, to see if the project is “RADIO FRIENDLY”.
Is important to show or shop your music around to see if it has any market value. PLEASE! Don’t spend your rent money or top dollars on any idea unless is for profit, POR FAVOR!, maybe as a hobby if you are a millionaire with money to spend is cool. Anyway my friends, I always test the grounds and get ready before I get involved in something serious like “radio airplay”.

“The Unexpected”

A person working with you calls and says ” hey, the station likes one of the songs, I think they like song “blah blah blah”, check it out, is gonna be on the air tomorrow at noon on “blah blah” radio station in MIAMI. I think is gonna be programmed.

When the song unexpectedly is playing on the radio means you have a “finished product published”, even if you don’t have a publisher.
Well !
What’s the next step?
Do you know what to do?
Do you have a “Record Label”?
Do you have a Publisher?
Do you have a manager?
Do you have a public relations person?
How about a secretary?
Do you have a BAND?
Do you have live sound equipment?
Probably you don’t have to tell all your friends because they would listen to the song playing on the radio.

SOMETHING HAPPENS UNPLANNED.

As a “new artist”

WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOUR SONG IS PLAYING ON THE RADIO UNEXPECTEDLY WITH NO RECORD COMPANY BACKING IT UP….hehehe

Tough Question? HA!

You thought the project wasn’t ready.
You said you needed better pictures for your cover.
The song is in the radio and you don’t have cds for sale or to be distributed. It takes a couple of weeks to get record pressed and almos the same to get distributed locally.
OH GOD! You don’t have a record label neither, or a manager, and the “jodía canción”, the d%$# song, is playing on the radio.
“How the hell the song got there, nobody told me anything.”
What I’m doing?
Who’s gonna manage me?

WHAT A MESS!
IF YOU THINK FOR A SECOND THAT ONE OF YOUR SONGS IS NOT RADIO FRIENDLY-BEWARE!!!
Have you ever send your music to a record pool? I bet you haven’t.

We send ours! TUMBAO RECORDS.COM is out there battling hard.

What is Tropical? What is Latin? CAN IT BE DEFINE?

What is Tropical? What is Latin?

BUENO! I’m impressed with this months winners.

Is hard to define this months winners on Latin and Tropical channels. I don’t want to diminished or underestimate anybody’s talent. This is not about talents or artists, this is about FANS votes and genres. So much great latin and tropical songs in both channels and still fans, or whoever is voting the winners, are “deaf” or don’t know anything about latin/tropical music. Start checking out latin or tropical radio stations, or lets call them spanish or hispanic radio, to see if you can find your way and vote for songs that at least sound tropical or lets call them latin. There is not ONE radio station in the USA programming latin music in English, but ourstage is full of english spoken latin songs. WEll!

My pick for this month on tropical is L.I.b. Queen and “ZUKE” music if I’m not mistaken. L.i.b Queen sounds tropical, I know the fans chose Cristal Cartier’s “Obsession”, which I’m trying to find which part of the song is tropical or latin. I’m not puting down Cristal’s vocals or the songwriting, is a beautiful song, almost like an african chanting melody and her vocals are cool too, kind like a bluesy style. What I’m refering is where is the latin or tropical sound to it. The Latin channel winners are incredible too, Pedro Eca y Los Franco Tiradores, but on any chart they will be under tropical not latin. I played a lot of Jobin, Baden Powell, Airto Moreira, Milton Nascimento and Joao Gilberto to know that bossa is not latin but a littler bit more tropical. My Latin winners are “CUERVO”, been “Piernas Largas” one of the best latin rock songs I ever heard.

TOP LATIN/TROPICAL GENRES ON RADIO AROUND THE WORLD

Salsa, Merengue, Reggaeton, Rock Latino, Bachata, Balada, Bolero, Zuke, Mambo, Cha Cha Cha, Son Montuno, Wawanco, Charanga, Cumbia, Hip Hop in spanish….

Samba, Batucada, Festejos, Bossa Nova and Tango are called South American Music. Is it Latin or Tropical? Could be…lol Bossa is cool too but tends to be to jazzy that’s why is hasn’t been played on latin/tropical radio stations for the last 40 years.

Anyway guys these are just my thoughts and I hope you understand because I don’t. I’ll keep listening to the beautiful music on ourstage and maybe I will keep picking the best latin/tropical artists of the month to my taste but I don’t think I’ll waste my time voting anymore. If I need to be corrected comment.

"El Swing De Cuca" at Haverstraw Dominican Festival in NY 8/24/08

Merengue Típico

This merengue style is played with guitars and percussion. Is kind of almost new, it came out 20 years ago and is a favorite of the audience today. The merengue típico has fast or really fast tempos and can be played with a sax too. Is similar to a “Perico Ripiao”, usually played with an accordion and a sax, the differences lies in the vocal delivery, Perico Ripiao is more campesino (hillbilly)accented.

My production is of the fast kind using 2 guitars, one rhythm and the other lead. See how people dance to it and enjoy this caribbean music native of Dominican Republic.

Nice line up of ourstage talent, an abundance of art in large quantities.
On Latin, Check # 55 “Layla Angulo” and all the rest under level 50, there’s great music down under. Go really deep, under the 100th level, you might be surprise.
On Tropical check # 51 Mikey Bassie, his HOT!!!
