I just moved to Chicago from L.A., where I had been living for the past 10 years. Being originally from Chicago, I am quite happy to be back! Chicago is vibrantly diverse, architecturally rich, there are 4 beautiful seasons(even though one of them is considerably low in temperature.) and not everyone is trying to make it in the entertainment industry. Don’t get me wrong, the night life here is out of this world, with a deep, live underground that even Al Capone would admire… Chicago is “my kind of town.” I have been writing new material and began hosting a music weekly at a “cult fave”, called IGGYS, on 800 N. Dearborn Not sure how long this “Wednesday Night Special” will last, but I am everlastingly happy to be flowing musically “in the town where I was born.” I do miss some things about L.A., like all the wonderful and creative people that I met out there. I miss the sunrise and sunset. I don’t miss the gentrification of Venice Beach(where I lived for the most part while in L.A.) I just figured it out, and while in L.A., I moved 23 times!!! From tents on 3 story houses in Venice, to downtown artist district residencies like the Brewery and the Santa Fe Arts Colony, I have a nice story to tell about L.A., and all of the amazing things that happened to me there. I am forever grateful to California and all it’s resident’s…especially Montgomery Woods, in Northern California, where the mystery of the wild and nature wraps itself up in all the right ways…ah yes…the deep and dark forest… I love it! Well there is more to tell, and I will continue a bit later…till then.
