I’m not a rapper. My music can be categorized in the genre of “rap” or “hip-hop” but I am not a rapper. I speak rhythmically over “rap beats” but… I’m not a rapper! Anybody can call themselves rappers, there are millions of people all over the world in the same position as me that want to accomplish the same things that call themselves “rappers” but not me. I’m different! No, thats an understatement, I am a new breed, an undiscovered species, what I do they haven’t come up with a name for. If you randomly met me on the street and we conversed for hours I would not once bring up the topic of music because I can’t explain what I do. Yea its easy to just say “I rap” but its more than that. I listen to music, mainstream and underground, and I’ve come to this one conclusion: “If these are rappers, then I’m something else.”
