Autistic Child
by Bob Eaton
He looks like any other child, but he doesn't think or act like them. He cannot think in the abstract, rather, he lives in the moment. He functions with ritualistic compliance to established routines, and can melt down when confronted with unexpected change. He endures ridicule and bullying from kids that don't understand how and why he is different. He is an autistic child. He is my grandson, whom I love dearly. This is his song.
