Emmett Till's Whirlpool

by Oisin McCole

After hearing Dylan's "The Death Of Emmett Till" I decided to Google Emmett Till. All the sites and info I found made me want to write a song that really got into the events in way that Bob had chosen not to do. This proved difficult because there’s so many versions of the story that I didn’t know which to use. But the real point of the song is as Dylan says-"If you can't speak out against this kind of thing, a crime that's so unjust,Your eyes are filled with dead men's dirt, your mind is filled with dust."

Nice vibe and your voice has a lovely tone without the affected quality i hear in so much modern folk..Simple tune with a sweet lilt that works great with the story..Nice one Happy-dark
