OH YES, STILL LOVIN' THIS PIECE!!!!!!!

And yes, "All Systems Down" is one of the most unique, and original Spoken Word tracks I´ve ever heard. Not because I wrote it, but because it combines Spoken Word with Electronic/Dance, Jazz, R&B, and Soul elements together with a story about "A brother having a bad day in normal life, and just saying "I feel much better when I got my friends around". No deep, or revolutionary, or depressing, or love story message in this, just looking at your average bad day, where everything goes wrong, mixed with a positive vibe and a sense of humor.

Added; This track has been VERY successful here, reaching #2 in the Semi Finals in August, almost winning the channel, and now again in the Top 20 Quarter Finals. I´m extremely happy about that, and want to thank everyone that has supported it. It´s on 21 favorite lists. But as I write in over 30 genres, I´m not dependent on just being successful in Spoken Word, so I think I´m going to retire "All Systems Down", and give other deserving talented Spoken Word artists a chance.
But, it´s been fun hanging out with ya´ll in Spoken Word.

Thanks for your comments. It means a lot, because I have a great deal of respect for both of you. I write in All Genres, but this is the only Spoken Word track I´ve done so far.
This started out as a Trip Hop/Dance track with strong Jazz influences, especially with the piano chords through out, and my attempt to creaze a Mc Coy Tyner style piano solo in the bridge section. lol That idea came to me at 4 am, while working on the track, and though I know several very talented jazz piano players, it was too late to call them over to the studio.
I just couldn´t wait, I had to hear it, so I ended up playing it myself. It worked some how, and gave me what I wanted in the tune so I left it. I played the tune for my friend Anthony Baggette, and he said he had a poem that might work with it called "I Feel Much Better, When I Got My Friends Around". I had already written the vocal chorus hook, and asked my friend Terry Loviq to come over and sing the choruses, and give me some ad-libs to play with and put where ever I wanted in the song. I then added the telephone ring, and the sax solo and conga samples to add to the story line, and that was it. We all had a lot of fun doing this, and it´s done well in the clubs here in Berlin, as well as on iTunes, and several other sites. It made it to #2 in Spoken Word in the August Semi Finals, so who knows?!

I enjoyed it last month, I'm enjoying it again this month. This is fun to listen to, man...

I'm getting to know this piece real well. Peace & poetry bro. It's nice to hear a poem that just is. No major issues or deep ingrained message. Just something to vibe to. The production is well done and compliments the vocal delivery just right.
