"My Dirt"

by Out and Runnin'

Bluegrass: "My Dirt" is about a father that started everyday in a clean shirt, at the north end of a south bound mule. His son remembers his dad telling him "someday son this wll all belong to you". Even when the bankers and builders came around the old man said "this is my dirt on my shirt and even if it ain't much to you it is to me". When the old man dies the son takes the farm over and winds up feeling just like his day. "This is MY DIRT"

For about the first 10 seconds I thought this was going to be a little contemporary for my tastes but I was glad I stuck with it because it just got better and better.

Hey O&R:
You Guys are outside the box, but I like what I hear. Keep it going who knows where it will wind up. Good luck best wishes.

My Grampa (who farmed up in Northern Idaho) would have loved this song. Very well written, great musicianship, and tells it the way it should be told. Congratulations guys!
