Here's an example of a band that doesn't play through the major counts and down-beats. You notice that they allow the major beat to be emphasizes, when they keep time and hit all the down-beats together which adds to the overall feel of the "Funk". Anyone needing to understand what a good Funk Band sounds like, listen to these guys because they also had to learn these techniques. Good work "Stun Gun".
