"J. Shade" is an organic-electronic track recorded using vintage equipment by Boston-based Sky Level. Melodies were performed on real music boxes and a classic Commodore 64 system that was converted into a synthesizer. The percussion was programmed with the amazing 1986 drum machine, the TR-707 Rhythm Composer. Like Iceland's Múm and Sigur Ros, Sky Level create complex and overwhelmingly natural soundscapes with classic electronic devices.
