My co-producer, Doug Kahan, plays bass for one of my favorite singer/songwriters--Paul Thorn. As soon as Doug played me this song, I knew I wanted to cut it because of the groove and the truth in its simple statements. Also, I knew it would be a cool way to showcase the incredible musicians who played on this record.
