I wanted a finished song without a typical song structure but still incorporating hooks. To get this effect I used some vocals Id recorded of my friends and cut them up. I'd been listening to lots of southern hiphop and wanted to produce a piece that incorporated the slow tempos of the songs. I think the mix of programmed drums, live instrumentation and synths ended up working. I succeeded in getting emotion I wanted across, but I think it is for the listener to decide what that is and not for me to say.
