A few weeks ago I was contacted by an old friend who I hadn't heard from in a long time. We were at art college together. He lives in New York, I live in Northern England... I digress. It was a very touching email, all the more so because it arrived on my birthday... a complete coincidence. I found this quite a moving experience and it was on my mind for several days...
