I wrote this piece when my son Ian was born and he had to have emergency heart surgery. He wasn't even a day old and weighed 6 pounds. He's OK now...but at the time, I was really scared about losing him. The mixed feelings of elation at having a new baby boy and the terror of possibly losing him drove me to write this piece once he came home from the hospital. It's a solo piece on my steel string guitar.
