I lived in India for six years. I kept running into this image-black Goddess Kali with her garland of skulls. She is the destructive Goddess that came forth from the third eye of Goddess Durga as she was fighting evil demons. Though her initial purpose was good, Her destructive urges got out of hand and the only way to stop her from destroying the entire world was for her Lover-Shiva to lie down in her path so her stamping foot stopped at his heart.
