I co-wrote this on the eve of me going back home to Michigan for the first time since moving to Nashville after being away for about 4 or 5 months. To most people, that wouldn’t seem like a very long time, but when you’re 19 years old and you’ve just moved 550 miles away from your family, your friends, your old boyfriend, your whole life…it seems like a lifetime.
