Reminds me of Al Stewart who I have always loved. Very 70ish and just the way I like folk music. Be proud of the song and good luck. xo Sarah

(extract from blog and lyrics re this song)

Second up I’ve entered “Map To The Morning” in Male Singer/Songwriter. This is a piece I am tremendously proud of and a song that has received a lot of internet airplay via several podcasts. Its a song about the yearning for innocence lost, magical places and things that exist only in our imagination but that we wish were real and the desire to be able to slip away from the harsh realities of modern life to an enchanted place and time with your true soulmate. May sound a bit wishy-washy but I think it works and the lyrics are among my favourites that I have written. It is the second track on my album. It has become a favourite of my fans on the live circuit and I now tend to keep this piece to finish off my set or use as an encore. Dreamy, other-worldly, happy – a spiritual love song is how I best describe this composition.

Lyrics to "Map To The Morning"

Won't you come with me
Through sapphire skies and diamond eyes
To “Tranquility”
Where the mermaids play
At the side of the bay
What do you think you'll find
If you trade in an eye to be king
In the land of the blind?
I want to see
Atlantis serene
In aquamarine

Open your eyes
And I'll make out
A map to the morning
Open your mind
And I'll build
A bridge to the sky
Open your eyes
And I'll make out
A map to the morning
In a land where the unicorn run
And the phoenix still flies to the sun
Somewhere to dance
Beneath a snowdrift of stars

Tell me where would you rather be
Just stuck in the smoke
Or seduced by the sound of the sea
I want to feel
That whats here is the dream
And whats there isn't real
So which is the priceless find
The large nugget of gold
Or a small piece of mind?
I want to to try
To recall how to laugh
And forget how to cry

Open your eyes
And I'll make out
A map to the morning
Open your mind
And I'll build
A bridge to the sky
Open your eyes
And I'll make out
A map to the morning
I'm sure we could slip away soon
So I'll meet you out under the moon
We can slip off our shoes
Sign our souls in the sand

Open your eyes
And I'll make out
A map to the morning
Open your mind
And I'll build
A bridge to the sky
Open your eyes
And I'll make out
A map to the morning
In that land where the unicorn run
- The phoenix still flies to the sun
Somewhere to dance
Beneath a snowdrift of stars

Open your eyes
And I'll make out
That map to the morning
Open your mind
And I'll build
A bridge to the sky
Open your eyes
And I'll make out
A map to the morning
I'm so sure we could slip away soon
So I'll meet you out under the moon
We can slip off our shoes
Sign our souls in the sand

Can assure anyone that thinks otherwise that this is just one electro-acoustic guitar and vocals.
