The Ramblin Fools write and play roots-ish (read: simple) rock/pop/blues/country music. The focus of the band is the songs and the instrumentation blends with and supports the clean melodies and harmonies. The band members consists of Dale Jennings on bass, Paul Van de Reit on drums and percussion, Aubrey Richmond on violin and vocals and Gordon Charles on guitar, harmonica and vocals. Dale is a veteran of the Detroit and Los Angeles blues scene and has toured with local and national acts. Dale has been very active in the country music scene for the past two years. Paul is a native of St. Louis and has been active in the country music scene since arriving in 2004. Aubrey is relatively new to the Los Angeles area but her country and gospel background has made her very busy of late as musicians and producers have taken to her lyrical and soulful voice and lively violin solos. Gordon is a veteran of the Los Angeles club scene having played everything from punk to power pop to blues but has been playing in Los Angeles country clubs as a solo artist for the past four years and performed as a duo with Aubrey since November 2005. The band was formed in early 2006 and has been playing in and around Los Angeles since then. There was a hiatus of sorts while personal issues came under control but it's all good now. Really. Meanwhile, the songs have grown to include many aspects from different genres. In the end, it's pretty simple, catchy stuff. At least, we think so.
