and Voter Giveaway Rules
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. OPEN ONLY TO OURSTAGE
ACCOUNT-HOLDERS WHO ARE 13 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER AT THE TIME OF ENTRY
AND WHO PHYSICALLY RESIDE IN THE 48 CONTIGUOUS UNITED STATES. VOID WHERE
PROHIBITED BY LAW. THESE OFFICIAL RULES APPLY TO BOTH THE “BOW WOW“ROC
THE MIC SO 'YOU CAN GET IT ALL' (“CONTEST”) AND THE “ROC THE MIC” VOTER
GIVEAWAY (“SWEEPSTAKES”).
CONTEST AND SWEEPSTAKES DESCRIPTION:
Bow Wow wants to see if you can Roc the Mic so 'You Can Get It All'. Bow Wow is helping
Radio One and OurStage find the hands down best hip-hop artist. Artists please submit your
best original hip-hop song into the contest. Contest Participants are to submit their song (audio
only) and follow the submission instructions within these rules and on the contest website for a
chance to win the Contest Grand Prize. Submissions will be voted on and judged using the
criteria detailed in Section 8 below.
Sweepstakes participants will be able to vote on the entries submitted by contestants on
OurStage.com. By submitting a vote, participants will be entered into the Sweepstakes for a
chance to win the Sweepstakes Grand Prize. Each vote will serve as an entry into the
Sweepstakes and participants may vote as often as they like.
Prize information is detailed within Section 9 below.
1. ELIGIBILITY: Both the Contest and Sweepstakes are open to OurStage account-holders
who are legal residents of the U.S. residing within the 48 contiguous United States, have
Internet access and are thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of entry. The
following are not eligible: employees, contractors, directors and officers of Ourstage, Inc.
(“OurStage”) and Sony Music Entertainment (“SME”) (collectively, “Sponsors”), Radio One
Inc. (“Radio One”), and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliated
companies, distributors, web design, advertising, fulfillment, judging and Contest agencies
involved in the administration, development, fulfillment and execution of this Contest
(collectively, "Promotion Parties"), and the immediate family members of each (spouse,
parent, child, sibling, grandparent, and spouse or "step" of each) and those living in their
same households (those persons whether related or not who live in the same residence
for at least three months during the twelve-month period preceding the start date of the
Contest).
2. CONTEST PERIOD: Contest begins at 12:00:00 am Eastern Time ("ET") on April 6, 2009
and ends at 11:59:59 pm ET on April 30, 2009 ("Contest Period").
3. SWEEPSTAKES PERIOD: Sweepstakes begins once Submission Materials (as defined
below) for the Contest become available on Web Site for entrants to vote on, but no later
than 12:00:00 am ET on April 6, 2009 and ends at 11:59:59 pm ET on April 30, 2009
(“Sweepstakes Period”).
4. TO ENTER THE CONTEST: One entry per person. To enter Contest, you must first create
a free account by logging on to www.ourstage.com/go/bowwow ("Web Site"). To enter,
upload your original hip-hop song (“Submission Materials”) between 12:00 am ET April 6,
2009 and 11:59:59 pm ET April 21, 2009 (“Submission Period”). In order to be considered
a valid Entry, Submission Materials must conform to the criteria listed in Section 6 below.
The Submission Materials need to be entered into the Hip-Hop hosted by Bow Wow
Channel. Artists on the site prior to this Contest Period will be eligible to enter into the
Contest without having to register through the Contest’s Web Site. SUBMISSION
MATERIALS WERE NOT EDITED BY SPONSORS AND ARE THE VIEWS/OPINIONS
OF THE INDIVIDUAL ENTRANT AND DO NOT REFLECT THE VIEWS OF SPONSORS
IN ANY MANNER. Any waiver of any obligation hereunder by Sponsors does not
constitute a general waiver of any obligation to entrants.
Eligible listeners of participating radio stations owned and operated by Radio One (the
“Participating Stations”) will be encouraged to participate in the Contest and Sweepstakes
on the air and through the participating radio station websites. The station websites will
have a link directing Contest and Sweepstakes participants to the OurStage.com contest
page.

5. CONTEST TERMS OF SUBMISSION: As conditions of entry into a Contest, and by
uploading Submission Materials, each Entrant warrants and represents that Submission
Materials (a) are your original work, (b) has not been previously published, (c) does not
infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual
property or other rights of any person or entity; (d) that you have obtained permission from
any person whose name, likeness or voice is used in the Submission Materials and (e) and
that publication of the Submission Materials via various media including Web posting, will
not infringe on the rights of any third party rights. Any such entrant will indemnify and hold
harmless, Sponsors from any claims to the contrary. Each Entrant further warrants and
represents that the Entrant has obtained permission from each person who appears in the
Submission Materials to grant the rights to the Promotion Parties described in these
Official Rules, and can make written copies of such permissions available to the Promotion
Parties upon request. By submitting an Entry, Entrant agrees to the Terms and Conditions
specified on this Web Site and further agrees to never sue or assert any claim against the
Promotion Parties' use of the Submission Materials. Entrant agrees to indemnify and hold
the Promotion Parties and their respective affiliates, officers, directors, agents, co-
branders or other partners, and any of their employees (collectively, the "Contest
Indemnitees"), harmless from any and all claims, damages, expenses, costs (including
reasonable attorneys' fees) and liabilities (including settlements), brought or asserted by
any third party against any of the Contest Indemnitees due to or arising out of the Entrant's
Submission Materials in the Contest, or the Entrant's conduct during and in connection
with this Contest, including but not limited to trademark, copyright, or other intellectual
property rights, right of publicity, right of privacy or defamation. Entrant agrees to release
and indemnify and hold harmless Sponsor and the Promotion Parties from any and all
claims that any advertising, presentation, web content or any other material subsequently
produced, presented, and/or prepared by or on behalf of Sponsor or the Promotion Parties
infringes on the rights of Entrant's work as contained in the Submission Materials.
6. SUBMISSION MATERIALS FORMAT AND CONTENT REQUIREMENTS:
Technical Requirements
• Submission Materials must be greater than 30 seconds and no more than 5
minutes in length, and be submitted in one of the formats allowed on the
Upload/Compete page on the Web Site.
• All entries must comply with the OurStage Terms and Conditions found at
http://www.ourstage.com/about/terms.
Additional Requirements
• Submission Materials must be in English.
• Entrants must fill out a profile for their Fan Club.
• No Illegal, Infringing or Abusive Message Content: You understand and
acknowledge that you are responsible for the Submission Materials, and agree not
to post any content that is unlawful, harmful, tortious, defamatory, libelous,
obscene, invasive of the privacy of another person, threatening, harassing,
abusive, hateful, racist, infringing, pornographic, violent or otherwise objectionable
or inappropriate as determined by OurStage.
• No Violations of Third Party Rights: You agree that you will not post any content
that contains personal information about any individual, violates the
privacy/publicity of any other individual or entity, or anything that you are under a
contractual obligation to keep private or confidential. You agree that you will not
impersonate any person or organization, including without limitation, the personnel
of OurStage. You further agree that you will not misrepresent an affiliation with
another person or organization, nor will you post any content that contains
slanderous or libelous comments about others, or that infringes any copyright,
trademark, patent, trade secret or other intellectual property right of a third party.
• No Commercial Use: You agree that you will not post any content that contains
business solicitation of any type, including advertising a product or service, offering
a product or service for sale, or directing readers to a location for more information
about a product or service.
• No Viruses, Corrupting Files or Interference: You agree that you will not post any
software, files or links to other sites, and that you will not post any content that
contains viruses, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs that
may adversely affect the operation of the Web Site, or feature of the Web Site. You
further agree that you will not modify in any way any specifications, technology or
application codes provided to you by OurStage or as embedded in the Submission
Materials unless expressly authorized in writing by OurStage.
• Use of Account Information: You may not share or transfer password or other
access information with any other party, temporarily or permanently. You shall bear
sole responsibility for all use of your account and for the confidentiality of your
password.
• Responsibility of Postings: You understand and acknowledge that Submission
Materials are solely your responsibility, and that OurStage is not responsible for the
information, data, text or other materials that may appear in the Submission
Materials . Opinions expressed in the Submission Materials do not necessarily
reflect the opinions of OurStage, and OurStage does not endorse and has no
control over the Submission Materials. Submission Materials are not necessarily
reviewed by OurStage prior to posting and OurStage makes no warranties,
express or implied, as to the Entry or to the accuracy and reliability of the
Submission Materials.
• No Monitoring/Violation Notices: OurStage does not necessarily monitor any
materials posted, transmitted, or communicated to or within the Web Site. If you
believe that something on the Web Site violates these Terms, please email
community@ourstage.com.
• User Termination/No Ownership: You understand and agree that you have no
ownership rights in your account or other access to the Web Site or features
therein. OurStage may cancel your Account and delete the Submission Materials
and any other materials associated with your Account at any time, and without
notice, if OurStage deems that you have violated these Terms, the Submission
Rules, the law, or for any other reason. OurStage assumes no liability for any
information removed from our Web Site, and reserves the right to permanently
restrict access to the Web Site or a user Account.
• No Confidentiality: The nature of this Web Site is interactive and public. By posting
Entry, you understand and acknowledge that any materials, ideas or other
communications you transmit in any manner and for any reason will not be treated
as confidential or proprietary. Furthermore, you acknowledge and agree that any
ideas, concepts, techniques, procedures, methods, systems, video, scripts, music,
photographs, designs, plans, charts, or other materials you transmit to OurStage
may be used by OurStage anywhere, anytime, and for any reason whatsoever
subject to the terms of the Entry License described in Ownership of Posted
Content and License thereto at http://www.ourstage.com/about/terms
Submission Materials that do not include all required information and adhere to the
foregoing and following requirements will be considered void and will not be considered in
this Contest.
7. TO ENTER THE SWEEPSTAKES: No purchase necessary. Enter as often as you like. To
enter the Sweepstakes, visit www.ourstage.com/go/bowwow and vote on Submission
Materials for the Contest. Each time you vote, you will be entered into the Sweepstakes.
Sweepstakes participants will also be directed to the OurStage.com sweepstakes page
through links posted on Participating Stations’ websites (stations listed above).
8. SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION OF CONTEST AND SWEEPSTAKES WINNERS.
CONTEST WINNER: Submission Materials received during the Submission Period will
compete against each other for the Contest Grand Prize (as defined below). Submission
Materials will be posted on the Web Site during the Contest Period, thereby allowing Web
Site members to vote for their favorite Submission Materials based OurStage Judging
platform (as defined below).
There will be two (2) rounds of judging to determine the contest winner:
Regular Judging: All eligible entries will be posted on the Web Site. There will be a public
vote online ("Judging") by account members of www.OurStage.com to determine the top
ten (10) (“Top 10”) entries. Automated methods of voting are strictly prohibited. One
account per person/email address. Judging or entering through multiple accounts is strictly
prohibited. The Top 10 will be determined based on this Judging using proprietary ranking
algorithms (administered by OurStage.com).
Finals: One Contest Grand Prize Winner will be selected from among the Top 10 at the
end of the competition (on or about May 8, 2009) by Bow Wow.
SWEEPSTAKES WINNER: Sweepstakes Grand Prize Winner will be selected in a
random drawing (from among eligible Sweepstakes participants) conducted by Sponsors
on or about May1, 2009. Odds of winning dependent on number of entries received.
For purposes of these Official Rules, Contest Grand Prize Winner and Sweepstakes
Grand Prize Winner shall collectively be referred to as the “Winners”.
Winners will be notified by email, and each Winner and Winner’s guest (and parent or
legal guardian if Winner is under 21) will be required to sign, have notarized and return an
Affidavit of Eligibility and Publicity/Liability Release (and any other documents required by
Sponsors), within five (5) calendar days of notification. Each Winner will also be required
to send a copy of his/her passport, driver’s license or birth certificate as proof of age and
residency. If a Winner cannot be contacted within five (5) calendar days of first notification
attempt, if the prize notification is returned as undeliverable, if a Winner rejects the prize,
in the event of noncompliance with these Rules, or if the Affidavit of Eligibility and
Publicity/Liability Release is not properly executed, the prize will be forfeited and an
alternative winner may be selected from all remaining eligible entries. Upon prize
forfeiture, no compensation will be given. The Affidavit of Eligibility and Publicity/Liability
Release must be complete and must include the Winner’s social security or resident alien
identification number. The information in Winner’s Affidavit of Eligibility must be correct
and must be identical to the information provided in Winner's entry or the Winner will be
disqualified.
9. PRIZES:
Contest Grand Prize Winner will receive:
• Meeting with Columbia Marketing Executives at Sony Music headquarters in NYC
to listen and critique your music;
• Two (2) tickets to see Bow Wow live in New York City concert during his
2009/2010 SCREAM touring season (“Concert”);
• Roundtrip coach airfare to an airport in close proximity to, as determined at the
sole discretion of the Sponsors, New York City from the airport closest, as
determined at the sole discretion the Sponsors, to the Winner’s hometown.
Sponsors reserve the right to substitute ground transportation if the Concert takes
place within a 100-mile radius of the Winner’s hometown;
• One (1) hotel room, double occupancy for the evening of the Concert; and
• Performance with Bow Wow onstage during the Concert, and meet and greet him
after the Concert.
If a Contest Grand Prize Winner is under the age of 18, they must be accompanied by
their parent or legal guardian for the duration of the meeting with Columbia Marketing
Executives, and when traveling to and attending the Concert.
Ground transportation, meals, gratuities, souvenirs, incidentals, and all other expenses not
specified herein are the responsibility of Winner and his or her guest.
Sweepstakes Grand Prize Winner will receive:
• A Sony® Xplod sound system;
• Roundtrip coach airfare for two (2) to an airport in close proximity to, as determined
at the sole discretion of the Sponsors, New York City from the airport closest, as
determined at the sole discretion the Sponsors, to the Winner’s hometown.
Sponsors reserve the right to substitute ground transportation if the Concert takes
place within a 100-mile radius of the Winner’s hometown;
• One (1) hotel room, double occupancy for the evening of the Concert; and
• Two (2) tickets to see Bow Wow in concert in New York City during his 2009/2010
SCREAM touring season, and a meet and greet with him after the Concert.
If a Sweepstakes Grand Prize Winner is under the age of 18, they must be accompanied
by their parent or legal guardian when traveling to and attending the Concert.
Ground transportation, meals, gratuities, souvenirs, incidentals, and all other expenses not
specified herein are the responsibility of Winner and his or her guest.
Estimated retail value of all prizes is Four Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars ($4,800.00).
The approximate retail value of the prizes represents Sponsors’ good faith determination.
That determination is final and binding and cannot be appealed. If the actual value of the
prizes turns out to be less than the stated approximate retail value, the difference will not
be awarded in cash. Sponsors reserves the right to substitute a comparable prize of like
or greater value for any prize, or to pay Winner a cash equivalent (the value of which shall
be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion), for any reason.
10. GENERAL CONDITIONS: Winners are solely responsible to report and pay any
applicable taxes on their prize. All persons winning prizes valued at $600 or greater will
receive an IRS Form 1099-MISC for the ARV of their prize. Limit one prize per household.
Prizes are non-transferable. By participating, Entrants agree to these Official Rules and
Sponsors Privacy Policy (available at www.OurStage.com) which are final and binding in
all respects. Unclaimed prizes will not be awarded. The Contest and Sweepstakes are is
governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, with venue in Middlesex
County, Massachusetts, and all claims must be resolved in the federal or state courts
located in Middlesex County, Massachusetts.
If, for reasons beyond the control of Sponsors or OurStage.com (including, but not limited
to, any suspected evidence of tampering or if any portion of the promotion is compromised
by computer virus infection, bugs, worms or unauthorized human intervention, fraud, acts
of God, strikes, terrorists acts, or criminal acts of third parties), the Contest or
Sweepstakes is not capable of running as originally planned, Sponsors, at their sole
discretion, reserve the right to cancel or modify the Contest and/or the Sweepstakes,
without liability. If a sufficient number of eligible entries (as determined by Sponsors in
their sole discretion) are not received by the end of the Contest and/or Sweepstakes
Periods, Sponsors reserve the right not to award any or all prizes.
By accepting the prize, winners acknowledge that the Participating Stations and Radio
One have neither made, nor are in any manner responsible or liable for, any warranty,
representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the prize or to
any portion thereof, including but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition or fitness
for a particular purpose
11. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY AND RELEASE: No liability or responsibility is assumed by
Sponsors or Promotion Parties resulting from any user's participation in or attempt to
participate in the Contest or the Sweepstakes or ability or inability to upload or download
any information in connection with participating in the Contest or the Sweepstakes. No
responsibility or liability is assumed by the Sponsors or Promotion Parties for technical
problems or technical malfunction arising in connection with any of the following
occurrences which may affect the operation of the Contest or Sweepstakes: hardware or
software errors; faulty computer, telephone, cable, satellite, network, electronic, wireless
or Internet connectivity or other online communication problems; errors or limitations of
any Internet service providers, servers, hosts or providers; garbled, jumbled or faulty data
transmissions; failure of any e-mail transmissions to be sent or received; lost, late, delayed
or intercepted e-mail transmissions; inaccessibility of the Web Site in whole or in part for
any reason; traffic congestion on the Internet or the Web Site; unauthorized human or non-
human intervention of the operation of the Contest or Sweepstakes, including without
limitation, unauthorized tampering, hacking, theft, virus, bugs, worms; or destruction of any
aspect of the Contest, or loss, miscount, misdirection, inaccessibility or unavailability of an
email account used in connection with the Contest or Sweepstakes, or human error that
may occur in the transmission, receipt or processing of entries. Sponsors and Promotion
Parties are not responsible for any typographical errors in the announcement of prizes or
these Official Rules, or any inaccurate or incorrect data contained on the Web Site. Use of
Web Site is at user's own risk. Sponsors and the Promotion Parties are not responsible for
any personal injury or property damage or losses of any kind which may be sustained to
user's or any other person's computer equipment resulting from participation in the
Contest, use of the Web Site or the download of any information from the Web Site. By
participating in the Contest or the Sweepstakes, Entrants (or their parent/legal guardian if
an eligible minor) agree to release and hold Sponsors and Promotion Parties harmless
from any and all claims, damages or liabilities arising from or relating to such Entrant's
participation in the Contest. By accepting a prize, Winners (or their parent/legal guardian if
an eligible minor) agree that the Sponsors and Promotion Parties have the right to use
winner's name, Submission Materials and biographical information for
advertising/promotional purposes, except where prohibited by law, and that Sponsors and
Promotion Parties shall not be liable for any loss or injury resulting from participation in the
Contest, acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize, including any travel related
thereto, or any use of the Submission Materials.
12. WINNERS' LIST/RULES REQUEST: For winner names or Official Rules, send your
request with a self-addressed, stamped envelope postmarked specifying "Winners List" or
