Yung Papi a.k.a. YP- Born Jerome Curry-July 24, 1986 in Centreville, Ill. I started rap'n in 1998 when I was living in St. Louis, Mo. At the time my rap name was Mista, and I was kill'n every track that was put in my path. I was rap'n with my brothers L.A. the player, and Terrence A.K.A. Touchdown with Calameno Entertainment. After 2 mixtapes in 2000- I started producing my own tracks, and I began writing my 1st solo album. My brother L.A. the player was my biggest influence on music and writing, I had no choice but to come hard. I click'd up with alot of STL rappers and producers: Six, Da 4 Horsemen, Joka out da deck ( Flip at the time), Snake eyez, King Blaze, Alpine, Promise, Gena, Yung Onny V., Da Banggaz314, and Beast Mode just to name a few. 2003 was the year I really started to take this shit serious, and battle rap ANYBODY that THOUGHT they could get on my level. Shortly after 2004 I made my own 2 man group E.S.V. ( East St. Villanz) with King Blaze, and myself, which lasted about 6 months before King Blaze wanted to branch out and do other things with different artist. Soon after the group split up , I made N.V. Entertainment ,and 424 Productions - which included myself as the producer/eng., artist, and ghost writer. N.V. Entertainment is also a 2 man group (Bam da Beast & Yung Papi) a movement we started to bridge the gap between St. Louis & E St. Louis. Eventhough N.V. is a group Yung Papi & Bam are also solo artist. Our last mixtape was Death B4 Dishonesty and we sold about 50 thousand copies and gave away about 20 thousand. We are currently getting radio spins in Memphis & some parts of Florida. The songs that are radio ready are: Bounce Back, It'z Nothin, and Whateva'z Cleva. It's been a full year since I drop'd any freestyle, or mixtape since 2007. I'm currently working on my new mixtape called (Guess Who'z Back) and it'll be ready for the streets in December, or I might wait for the new year. I'm now working with the following producers: Bradstar-Jussfresh-and Big Dawg. If it's anything you would like to know, or if you are a rapper and you want to be featured on my mixtape contact my manager @ 3142490584-(Juice) and he will set it up. For everything else you gotta wait untill I drop my mixtape and DVD.It's a damn shame that all these weak ass ovanite rappers get'n on and only got 1 good track (MAYBE). Just to let yall know my foot is in the door and this mixtape is going to open that bitch wide open.
