Last month I was selected as finalist at Song of the Year, international songwriting contest and at last my song “Leben” tooked 1st place in the German channel. And it is glad to say that I received a lot of mails and comments, but there are so many mails that I can’t reply to everyone. I’m sorry, so I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all people. If you put “Comments” to me, I’ll definitely reply to you… This month I uploaded my new song “ユメグモ”(Yumegumo). “Yume” means dreams in Japanese and “Gumo” means clouds. So through this song I want everyone to have a big dream like clouds floating in the infinite air and never give up your dream. This song is typical J-pop song. But the lyric is visual lyric, that means I wrote a pircutre by lyric. So I also want you to enjoy my song visually. And if you have any comments, LMK!!

先月国際的なソングライティングコンテストのSong of the Yearでファイナリストに選ばれたことやLebenが1位を獲得したことで非常にたくさんのメールやコメントをもらいましたが、あまりに多くのメールであったため全員に返事を送れませんでした。ですので、この場を借りてみなさんにお礼申し上げたいと思います。どうもありがとうございました。今月は新曲「ユメグモ」を発表しました。この曲には無限な空を漂う雲のように大きな”ふわふわの夢”を持って頑張ってもらいたいというメッセージを込めています。また、歌詞で絵を描くという視覚的な歌詞にも挑戦してみました。今までこのような歌詞を書く方がいたかは存知あげませんが、新しいそして楽しい試みだと思っています。まずは、”ユメグモ”を聞いて楽しんで下さい！(また今月から経験を積むという意味と世界に向けたアピールのためにできるだけ多くの言語で文章を書いていこうと思います)

What image do you have in your mind about falling leaves? Maybe your imagination is unlimited; leaves which fall beautifully or peacefully, leaves which waft in the breeze or are exposed to the big wind… This instrumental piece expresses various imagined sceneries with only the piano. 落葉(らくよう)―皆さんはどんな情景を思い浮かべますか。きれいにそして静かに舞う情景があれば、悲しみを表現するような情景もあれば、そこにそよ風が吹いているだとか、強い風が吹いているだとか無限な想像が可能だと思います。今回この曲はそんな様々な落葉の情景をピアノだけで表現してみました。スケジュール上まだ分からないのですが、3ヶ月連続で新曲発表できていければいいなと思っています。

It’s been a long time. The end of the summer is drawing near and moving into the autumn. So I made a new solo instrumental piece, titled “落葉(Rakuyou)”. It means the falling leaves. And I’ll upload it on October 1st. Then I want to make cheerful and upbeat songs in Japanese, English and Korean. Maybe it will escape the impression so far and refresh my own image… I’ll strive for my dream!!

8月ももう終わり。次第に秋が近づこうとしています。今新らしいピアノ曲「落葉」(らくよう)などを作っています。タイトルの「落葉」を「おちば」と読まないのはもう落ちてしまった葉ではなく葉が落ちているその瞬間をメロディーにしようと思っているからです。このピアノ曲は10月1日に発表します。そして今までスローテンポの曲ばかりでしたが、その後はイメージを壊すくらいの明るい曲をお届けする予定です。そのまず第一段階としてこの間日本語の新曲「ユメグモ」が完成して、この曲を恐らく12月頃発表しようと思います。その前に何曲か(特に英語や韓国語で)曲を作っていけたらと思っています。ではお楽しみに！

The title of my new song, Leben means living in German. It may be that there are some people who ask theirselves, “Why do I live now?” But we can’t draw clear answers especially when we are young. If and when you fret over something, I want you to listen to this song. It leads you to nowhere and there is a man who sighs over his misfortunes in it. But I want to give you the energy to live through this song. This is the reason why I wrote its lyric in German.

Ich habe zum ersten Mal einen Song auf Deutsch geschriebt, weil ich mit dem die Leute helfen möchte. Dieser Songtext gibt keine Lösung, aber ich wünsche, dass Sie sich mit dem Energie zu leben füllen. Das ist meine neue Herausforderung.

Leben＝生きるということ。「なぜ今生きているのか」という疑問を自分に投げかける人がいるかもしれない。今世の中は人々が孤立化している。そのような社会はある意味、自分自身を幸せにしていかなければいけないような社会。でも、人は一人では自分自身を幸せにすることも、自分自身を不幸にすることもできないと思う。何かに悩んだり苦しんだ時、この曲を聞いてほしいです。この曲は何も答えを語らない。そして、ただただ自分を嘆いている。でも、そこから何か生きる強さを感じてもらえるかもしれない。それがこの歌詞をドイツ語で書いた意味であり、そして「ワスレグサ」とは発声の仕方も変え、この4年間ある意味音楽から少し離れて探り続けてきたものが今形になりつつあるという新たなスタートでもある。

Hello. For the first time,　I made a short movie with CG.　This movie is only my hobby. So you can’t buy it, but I’m very pleased if you enjoy it. The essential element for the musicians is to write music and express our hearts. And then the performance is also important to put it well. For example, in live concerts, we can impress our audience even with lighting and projected images. So I wanted to treat visual images. And I want to improve my performance.

今回初めてCGを使って超短編動画を作ってみました。これは趣味にすぎないので購入はできなくなっていますが、楽しんでいただければと思います。「歌詞を書き、曲を書き、そして歌を歌って演奏する。」ミュージシャンになりたいという夢を見始めてから今までこれらのことについて深く考え、そして常に向上をはかってきました。しかし、ライブという場が基本となるアーティストにとってやはり重要なのがパフォーマンス。照明の当て方、映像、それだけですらみんなに与えられる感情は変わってきます。今はこのパフォーマンスに磨きをかけることが課題で、毎日様々な国の様々なアーティストのパフォーマンスを見て自分のパフォーマンスを生み出していきたいと考えています。「いかに魅せるか」、その一貫として今回映像を扱ってみたいと思いました。

This month, “ワスレグサ(Wasuregusa)” ranked 15th at last as more and more people have heard it and supported to me since last month. And many people spoke to me in a gentle manner. Thank you, everyone!! I’m very pleased about it. In July I’m going to record a new song, called “Leben.”(It means living.) I wrote the lyric of this song in German and this is because I think that the strong sound of German can express my feelings in the most effective way. I do drive away at my goal!!
今月Забытые Волныが12位、ワスレグサが15位にランクインしました。Забытые Волныを契機にワスレグサを聞いてくれた方が多く、ワスレグサが返り咲きました。どうもありがとう。中学生の頃、もっと奥の深い歌詞を書けるようになりたいと思って勉強し始めたのを今ふと思い出しました。音楽と結びつけば、奥が深ければいいというものでもなくて、どんな歌詞でも書けるようなアーティストが今は理想だと思っています。元の日本語でワスレグサの詩の、日本語にしかない奥深さをもう一度感じてほしいです。7月は新曲”Leben”のレコーディングの準備などに取りかかって新曲を発表したいと思います。”Leben”とはドイツ語で「生きる」という意味です。今回、ドイツ語で歌詞を書くことで日本語では書けなかった歌詞、そしてドイツ語特有の力強い音がこの曲で生きていると思っています。近いうちに歌詞も発表します。今はピアノ伴奏しかつけられないのですが、本当に自分の思い描く音楽世界を実現できる日が来ればいいなと思ってこれからも頑張ります。どうぞお楽しみに。

I uploaded my new instrumental piece today. “Забытые Волны” is pronounced as “zabitije volni”. What image do you have in your mind by listening this piece? I sometimes spend a lot of time wondering about what I should give over to the title of songs. This time I named this piece in Russia and it has very important meanings. But before thinking about them, I want you to go beyond the bounds of imagination by vividly imagining many things.

言葉のない音楽にも題名をつけることが一般的ですが、一体曲の題名に何をどこまで託せばよいのだろうか考えることは非常に重要だと思います。この曲はロシア語で名付け、簡単にカタカナ表記すれば”ｻﾞﾋﾞﾃｨｴ ﾎﾞﾙﾆ”と読めるわけですが、今回この場でこの文字通りの意味を書くつもりはありません。この曲がみなさんの想像を超えて無限に彷徨うことを望んでいます。目を閉じるとそこは暗く狭い世界なのではなく、無限を可能にする世界を私たちは享受できるのではないでしょうか。
