There is an ideal of the “American Dream,” but very few get to experience it. Young El’s evolution in the industry is truly “Like a Dream”. Coming from Cameroon, West Africa years ago, his vision for his music was radically changed by his immersion into the American Hip-Hop culture. He started in Houston, Texas and got a taste for that exploding scene. He then went to trend setting streets of New York City. His style evolved in NYC, and he learned more of the free styling, gritty truth of Hip-Hop. His next move was to Washington, DC where he spent many club nights as resident MC at the Crossroads Club. He kept the parties jumping and was the favorite hype-man for many promoters. Still searching for his home base, he came to settle in Greensboro, NC. He really found his voice in Greensboro, and began intense development of his material. He began recording his inspiration in his favorite Dirty South studios. The mix of his accented vocals, poignant lyrics and the prominent bass line has created a sound that reflects his exposure to the American Hip-Hop scene, but still embraces the Mother Land. There is so much more to come from this talented performer, but don’t miss out on the next hit single “Like a Dream” featuring Lil’ E. It is a true biography of this emerging artist and his collected culture. As always in hip-hop, Young El delved into collaborative efforts with Evin Gibson on “Being Alone” and “Don’t Cry”, which also features another up-and-comer, Frank White. Bringing back some of his DC flavor, he reinvented his club hit, “Young El”. There is so much more to come, and there have been some pre-releases of his unfinished works, “Slaves” and “Morals.” With many upcoming shows and events, we will all be able to partake in Young El’s version of our American Dream... People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies; Succeed anyway. If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you; Be honest and sincere anyway. What you spend years creating others could destroy overnight; Create anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous; Be happy anyway. The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway. Give the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give your best anyway. In the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them LINK TO MP3.COM:
