Destined for greatness, the fresh new voice of Toronto, YongeShay is ready to take over the music industry. Combining hot punch lines with the touch of his sensitive side, this young Hip Hop artist possesses an intriguing type of sound. Born July 13, 1988, he grew up in the infamous Toronto neighbourhood, known as Jane and Finch, more specifically Driftwood court. Though many tended to fall into drugs, crime and gangs; Yongeshay was able to find positive outlets through church, dance, sports, and music. When speaking on his motivation, he states “ I was never apart of the stigma that proceeded to claim my community's identity, i lived by my own quote say what you mean and mean what you say, so others see me genuinely. i have a destiny that only i can taint, I desire to be wealthy not rich and not for myself but for those around me who believe success is the only way to repay their faith i also one day desire to start my own company one day dedicated to youth development. i have lost too many friends in such a short span of time and that needs to change. that's why as a rapper i try to keep my music geared towards love because a lot of us don't truly understand what it means and how without survival and progression is futile. i use where i've been what i've seen in person not on t.v., to help give more meaning to what i create with my music." Influenced and inspired by the works of 50 Cent, Beres Hammond, Ginuwine, Imogen Heap and Michael Jackson, it is YongeShay’s lyrical ability that makes his style distinctively known. This 21 year old, is currently busy promoting his songs through YouTube, myspace, as his anticipated mixtape “Who Would Have Known” will be out in time by Spring 2010. With his fellow Toronto rapper, Drake making a big impact in the music industry, it is now YongeShay’s time to shine, as his motto is "to success the protégé."
