Born in Chicago in the year of 1987, XPRSN was born musically gifted. At the age of five, she began to sing, and write songs. Growing up listening to Selena, Toni Braxton, Aaliyah, Depeche Mode, New Order, Motown, and other great singers gave her the insparation to sing. At the age of 12 she began to write long poems which then were converted into rap songs. Listening to Nas, Notorious BIG, 2Pac, Run DMC, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu Tang Clan, Typical Cats, Pete Rock, Tha Mexakinz, Twista(Tung Twista), Talib Qweli, Mos Def and other emcees, influenced her to become part of the hip hop world. While writing songs, she became more and more interested in the hip hop world, she then got into producing music at the age of 14, then entered into the graffiti world at 16.
