Manjam Monkey’s is made up of 2 guys from Oxford, England. They have a polished Acoustic guitar driven sound that mixes electric guitar well with cool sounding vocals. They have a great mellow type groove that is funked up at times .. yes that was funked not the bad word. Anyways I enjoyed thier songs “Melancholy” which is a real nice instrumental. I also liked " Never Mind The Rain" which had a cool relaxed funkyness to it. “Kill the Nation” has a great opening riff that I was really digging. I would say they have a solid sound and I enjoyed listening to all thier songs.

I am truly blown away by these guys. Sweet Mother Logic has all the elements I look for in a energenic trippy music. They blend Jazz with a little bit of polka style beats at times with all out rukus energy! I enjoyed thier “vintage” keyboard sounds and the cellos give them a unique sound not often found. I faved all of thier songs that are currenlty on thier page. I would say if you have time stop in and give them a listen you are in for a real treat! And make sure you listen to all the songs all the way through they tend to take right and left turns in the songs in the cool progessive style I love :).

Justin Wright – Cello

JP Saint-Cyr – Cello,Bass

Jack Kelly – Guitar, Bass

Eric Kaplin – Piano, Juno, Farfisa

Adrian Aitken – Drums

3 Thumbs up to Sweet Mother Logic

Wow ! first I want to say these guys can rock! They Blend a Progressive Funky jazz driven sound with Reggae. I am sure they put on a show just from what a tight live sound I hear in thier songs. The band consists of

VOX / KEYS – Cooper Nolan

GUITAR – Chris Storey

BASS – Jon Walter

DRUMS – Ian McLeod

PERCUSSION – Grant McLeod

GUEST MC – Pra-Spect

I really like thier tunes “That Funky Girl” ,“Revolution Song” and “!Dance Hippies Dance!” great feel for solos and a great funky sound mixed with good use of thier instruments and vocals make this band an instant Favorite of mine. “Here I come Feat” features Pra-Spect on vocals giving it a funky jazz reggae hip-hop feel.

I see why they gain fans wherever they play these guys rock!!

Check them out for yourself

I am going to try and visit 1 band/artist site each week and the write a review of what I think of it/them and post it in a Blog. I have 25+ years of music playing, writing, recording and mixing. I have been in several bands over the years including : Knight Mirror, Dream Catcher , Remnant, Versicolor, Three Freinds and What’s Next?! in each of these bands we wrote and recorded atleast 1 CD. The styles ranged from Christian Rock, Blues , Rock , Progressive Rock and yes Heavy Metal (back in my youth :). So I like to think I have some know-how after all these years.

I will do my best to be impartial and treat the sites and music for what they are not who they are from. This is not a popularity blog I truly love music and really love finding new music. I think the best stuff is in bedrooms and basements not on the radio or in stores. So my intent is just to help good music get found so let me know if this Blog helps or if I am way off.

If you enjoy this Blog please send it to your friends.
