Biography

Drawing comparisons to AC/DC, Jet, and Foo Fighters, Western Aerial’s Try To Keep Up is chalk-full of the non-stop, pull-no-punches guitar-laden rock music that fans have come to expect. Drawing comparisons to AC/DC, Jet, and Foo Fighters, Western Aerial’s Try To Keep Up is chalk-full of the non-stop, pull-no-punches guitar-laden rock music that fans have come to expect. Featuring the anthemic “All I Had In Mind” and “Hot As Hell” along side crowd sing-along favorites "Housewives," and “Going To Jail” the album also shows a more melodic, softer side of Western Aerial on "Saturday Night (This Is Sunday Morning)," as well as darker introspection on “Feel Nothing”. Comprised of Geoff Metts on vocals/guitar, Jimmy Richards on bass/vocals, and Anthony Tripp on drums, Try To Keep Up carries on the rock 'n' roll tradition of Western Aerial, making this their strongest album to date. Try To Keep Up was recorded at Opal Studio in Portland, Oregon by engineer and producer Kevin Hahn. “We’ve never spent this much time in the studio, but we were committed to making the best recording possible without compromise,” says vocalist/guitarist Geoff Metts. "We’ve really grown over the last couple of years as musicians and songwriters; these songs show a tighter focus on those crafts.” The album is Western Aerial's third studio album and the band's sixth recording to be released, including a live album and two EP singles. “We’re so excited to share the new album with everybody, it’s our best work yet.” The influence of producer Kevin Hahn has expanded on the production of previous albums, “He knew what we were after and really pushed us to step up musically and add layers outside the live recording style we’re used to” Metts explained. “For these recordings we tried to serve the song in terms of instrumentation.” To support the album, the band will be touring the West Coast and Rocky Mountain regions, and has a European tour scheduled in the Fall. “Touring Europe has always been a goal of ours, and now we’re getting our chance. We really have our fans to thank for all of this; we’ll do you proud," continues Metts. • Licensed two songs off Try To Keep Up to film and national television in 2010 including the CW Networks ‘Life Unexpected’ • Recorded Portland Trailblazer theme music and video for national ad campaign for 2008-2010 seasons • Western Aerial will be opening for major acts over the next year. In the past they’ve opened for Alice In Chains, Buckcherry, Incubus, Chevelle, Everclear and The Supersuckers, to name a few
