Wesley draws influences in his music from both his formal training as a Classical and Jazz guitarist at UC Berkeley as well as his informal training from singer/songwriters such as John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Matt Wertz, Eric Hutchinson, Brett Dennen, and others. Listen closely for Classical and Jazz guitar influences in Wesley’s acoustic guitar riffs, skillfully complemented by the soulful lyricism, metaphor abstraction, and rhythmic complexity pervading in his songwriting and vocal melody.
