Born Marvin Clarke on December 15th 1982, Dancehall artiste WASP burst on the scenes with an incredible drive to make it big in the Dancehall Industry. An excellent songwriter and crafty DJ filled with fresh and creative ideas, WASP is eager to show off his creativeness to the new generation of both hip-hop and dancehall fans worldwide. His main goal is to top the International charts and to be a play an integral part in making the music a permanent staple on a worldwide market. WASP first realized he wanted to pursue music as a career while he was still in high school and after copping the grand prize of the Chicken Supreme (now Island Grill) talent contest back in 1994. This was where he got his stage name WASP, as his friends claimed he gave a hot and "wassy" performance. In 1996 his focus was to perform on as many stage shows as possible as well as getting his music to as many djs/selectors he possibly could. WASP then changed focus to producers and recorded his first single in collaboration with Dancehall artiste Jagwa at the Mixing Lab studios. He also did collaboration with popular Dancehall artiste Spragga Benz entitled “Best a Dem”, the single earned him more stripes in the streets as his journey continues. Like most young dj’s, WASP had his supporters and a strong contingency of young talented individuals like himself with big dreams to excel in the music business. He had his own label called Park to Park Entertainment and teamed up with Throwback Entertainment and "Dmoneyy" of Dbeatzz Records who first heard of him through his sister to create a mix tape entitled “The Buzz”. The mix hit the streets January 2007 in Kingston and Miami, Florida and received an impressive feedback from radio djs, selectors and fans alike. So impressed were Bobby Chin of Black Chiney with the music by this artiste, he immediately recorded a single entitled “buss de place”.
