Originally on two seperate music paths as solo artists, Lucas Hunter and Ashley Alford decided to join forces instead to create this dynamic and incredibly talented group so as to bring you some of the most kick ass Roots/Folk/Rock music there is to be heard! LUCAS HUNTER An up-and-coming singer/songwriter, also born and raised in Toronto, Lucas wrote his first song at 11 years of age, and since has written a library worth of material, recently paired down to his twelve best for his debut solo album entitled "ALL THE WARES" released in the Spring of 2008. Clearly influenced by the likes of James Taylor, Jim Cuddy, Neil Young, and even Bon Jovi, Lucas is used to blending such musical elements as roots, folk, blues, country and rock into a sound of his own. In 2008 alone, he has showcased at Canadian Music Week, released a full length debut album, won an award for best classic rock artist of the year at this year's Ontario Independent Music Awards! Now the second half of the newly formed, Vintage Railway, Lucas is currently working on the group's first album set for release in 2011! ASHLEY ALFORD This Toronto native has been capturing audiences with her electrifying stage presence and star-like qualities since she was 15 years old. Originally on the path to a career in opera, the 27-year old artist has since lent her soulful, yet natural vocal range and technique to the world of Roots/Rock. Her single entitled "Beautiful Feeling", released in 2005, was the result of eight years of growing into a refined and experienced recording artist. Featuring Ashley's passionate vocals and enduring melody, it was acclaimed to be one of the best works since Dido first hit the music scene. It's release that summer across Canada saw it's sales ring in at a staggering 50,000 copies. She now looks very forward to the success that is to come with her new home along with Lucas in Vintage Railway.
