VICIO
Sounds like: Led Zeppelin and Madonna’s illegitimate child.
VICIO, and their high energy, youthful and hard hitting sound has launched itself to the top of the New York rock scene. Members include Rickardo Lima Diniz, of Santos,Brazil(guitars, backup vocals), Samira Ashley (lead vocals, keys, percussion), Matthew Rullo (drums) and Corey Hanna (bass). Formed originally in Brazil by members Samira and Rickardo, the line up continued to develop as Jonathan, Matthew and finally Corey joined, creating the signature VICIO sound. Vicio evolved into the current 4-piece act in June, 2009. This eclectic group brings together their personal influences from California, New York and Brazil. Influenced heavily by 70’s Rock, 80’s Pop and 90’s Grunge, VICIO has combined their passion for music to create a new kind of rock with a style that is so driven and energetic that it elicits such bold reactions described as, “seriously one of the best songs ever written on the indie scene” (iTunes review of “Solemnly Swear”). With an emphasis on storytelling, crossed with accessible lyrics, their music continually tries to marry beautiful melodies with hypnotic beats. Their sound, paired with Samira’s intense vocals, clearly shows why Vicio is a band that has “combined the last 30 years of hit music into one addicting sound” (George Pettignano, CBS Television). Live shows can be described as vivid and entertaining with moving and intricate parts that make it impossible to stand still.
