Remember: the past is subjective. Changing your perception of the past is the key to altering the future of your past self. Past, present and future are connected, but in most cases our perceptions are able to acknowledge this connection in only one direction: through the conduit of memory. Don't be fooled. The future can be remembered just as readily as the past. Time is perceived as an eternal present, in which the perceiver accesses the past and future as though events in these two states are fixed points on a straight line, along which the perceiver is constantly moving in one direction. The effects of the action of forces upon objects are observable but irreversible, and future events are out of reach until the perceiver's linear movement in time brings event and participant to their inexorable collision. Alternative or parallel futures become impossible once the event has occurred, and the spent event instantly becomes part of the unchangeable past. But time is only a model with no bearing on reality. Adjust your perceptions and time ceases to exist for you. The fixed past becomes malleable, and the parallel lines that carry separate points of perception toward separate futures cross. The point where those parallel lines cross is the connector.
