TRIGGER & SOME DUDES NAMED ROY

Ross Wells of Zenfilm once described a collection of Trigger music as “Monty Python meets Slim Whitman at Sarah Silverman’s house with a lot of espresso.” It’s probably stranger than that. Trigger was raised in Brownwood, Tx., among cowboys, hippies, bankers, preachers, drunks, and politicians. It was an intense and confusing mix. Eventually, Trigger’s need for a therapist became apparent, so he married one. As his search for meaning got harder, his music got funnier. Influences include Randy Newman, John Prine, The Fuggs, Robert Earl Keen, Iris Dement, Todd Rundgren, Barenaked Ladies, Roger Miller, Lyle Lovett, Tom Waits, and Willie. Trigger & Some Dudes Named Roy are headed to Sugarhill Studios this summer to work on a brand new collection of almost new material. Be ready to duck.
