Tennessee rock/pop artist Travis Singleton brings the follow up to his 2006 EP ‘Along for the Ride’ this spring. ‘Not Broken Yet’ is an 8 song collection of both new and old, featuring some of Travis’ first writings, as well as some of his most recent offerings. Recorded close to home in Knoxville , TN at Shed 55 Studios , ‘Not Broken Yet’ is sure to continue the trend of recent success and a growing fan base. Since the fall of 2004 , Travis has been sharing his music with listeners. From the smallest of stages in local coffee shops , to the acclaimed stage of Eddie’s Attic in Decatur , GA , Travis brings his blend of acoustic driven rock melodies and thought provoking lyrical content to audiences in any venue willing to lend an ear. “I want to write about and share things that are real. Things that I’ve experienced or have witnessed. I’ve always found music to be an outlet for it’s listeners. That’s the way I listen to music, at least. It should take you somewhere. A line in a song , or certain way a chord progression is put together. Music isn’t JUST lyrical. And it’s not JUST musical. It’s both, flowing together, getting you to a place of thought. A place of reflection, introspect, revelation...I think music is, and should be, therapeutic.” In October 2006 , Travis was able to bring a selection of songs to his fans in his EP release ‘Along For The Ride’ . Now residing in Seattle , former Nashville-area producer Mark Wagner helped put together “a great representation of those early songs” , Travis recalls. Musicians Ben Shive (Dave Barnes, Matt Wertz) and Clint Milburn (Mark Wagner, Warren Barfield) , along with Jake McDaniel and Chris Raines provided the “incredible music that brought my songs to life”. ‘Along For The Ride’ helped to bring new opportunities in Travis’ music career, with venues across the southeast reaching out and providing a stage for him to share to new friends and fans. “That project was really a jump pad, I believe. It let me finally have a way of saying ‘this is me, this is my music’. It opened doors and let me meet some incredible people. Mark was great to work with, and I owe him a lot. I’m very proud of it”. 2007 saw an increase in ‘exposure’. Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, Georgia ... all played host to Travis and allowed him to make more and more noise with his “little songs about life”. By placing 4th in an Artist Showcase online vote , Travis was granted a spot on the stage of Eddie’s Attic , the renowned listening room in Decatur , GA. “That was a surreal moment. Eddie’s is one of the venues you sort of dream of performing at. I mean, Mayer got his start there! It was a true honor just to be a part of the contest they presented, but to actually place 4th out of who knows how many entries, and get the chance to perform on their stage? It was great”. Travis also had the chance to perform with Nashville based super talent Andy Davis that summer. “Andy Davis is a tremendous guy. I was blessed with the chance to open for him at a stop on his tour that summer. He’s a class act , an amazing songwriter, and a genuine guy.” Things progressed on into 2008 , and the recording itch won out, as Travis brought songs both new and old to the studio once again. “It was so good to be in a studio environment again. I was anxious to record, and I think the end product is truly something special. I feel great about these songs. They show a natural maturation, honestly. They find a way of representing my life and where it’s been over the course of, say, the last three or four years. It’s got an almost raw and natural vibe, but at the same time, it’s very distinct and refined. The songs I brought in had individual meaning, but when we put them together for this collection, it was wild to hear the sense of ‘flow’ that we ended up with. I get excited just talking about the album. People, I hope, are going to smile when they start up the first track.”
