Fritz Donnelly began airing his short films on Public Access TV in Manhattan. His 30 minute weekly show, “To the Hills,” was selected as one of 12 shows to be part of an avant-garde block of programs screened at Anthology Film Archives. He made a DVD of 24 of his short films and sold over 3,000 copies on the streets of SoHo. Fritz was profiled as a “film guerilla auteur” in “Black Book Magazine” and was featured on the cover of “The Independent Film and Video Monthly.” He has released two DVDs, “To the Hills” and “To the Hills 2” and has a third selection of short films “How to Fight N Win” coming out in early 2008. One of his short films, “Financial Advice” was liscenesed this summer by the Independent Film Channel and is currently playing on their website. His work is available on Amazon.com and clips can be seen at tothehills.com. In the past year Fritz performed at the Actor’s Studio in Malaysia and was commissioned by the New Museum of Contemporary Art to make a video encyclopedia of verbs. His work was included in group shows at UCLA’s Hammer Museum in Los Angeles and in Portland OR and Athens, Greece. Fritz graduated with a degree in Art/Semoitics from Brown University and speaks Mandarin Chinese.
