Tork is a three man Progressive Rock band based out of Seattle, Washington that originated as the brain child of lead vocalist & guitarist, Jeremy Long. Members Warren Whitehead on bass & Steven Shaber on drums were recruited by Long to complete the puzzle. Bringing together drastically different backgrounds & styles is what has created the magic with Tork. Breaking the mode from a lot of the music hitting the airwaves today that sounds the same, Tork finds it an absolute to dare to be different. The band that notes some of their influences as Genesis, Led Zepplin, Failure and Primus, makes it clear that their music with raw energy and intensity is uniquely defined to them. The path for each member prior to forming Tork was different, which lends to why the group strongly feels they are a driving force in the progressive rock shift. Jeremy Long discovered his gift with music early on when the original music he recorded as a teenager garnered a major response from crowds young and old. By the age of 16, Long was a seasoned pro on his first love, the electric guitar. Long would eventually move from California where he grew up to Seattle in search of a different music scene from what he was used to. After Jeremy Long arrived in Washington he recruited seasoned musician, Warren Whitehead, who had performed in hundreds of live shows with various bands across Seattle. Whitehead found his way to Seattle from Montana with the goal of expanding his horizons with music. Whitehead & Long worked together for eight months before adding Seattle native, Steven Shaber who is the drummer for the group. Shaber unlike his band members did not have the live performance experience when he joined the band. Together the band cultivated their new age sound with a cutting edge twist that delivers a jolting charge to conventional music. Tork is poised to breath life in to an industry that they feel has fallen dormant from generic & manufactured music being pushed upon fans. Setting trends is not a goal for Tork; instead the band wants to inject in to the industry, ground breaking music that shows the true art form is not dead. This progressive band seamlessly melds the epic mysticism and melody of vintage metal with startling, full-throttle punk grooves and shrieks. This combination has helped the band gain a rabid, under-the-radar following. Tork is adding the final touches to their upcoming album that is set for release in spring 2011. With a growing West Coast fan base seeking out their new single titled “Your Hero is Dead” & packed crowds at their live shows, Tork is ready to rise to the top of the music industry.
