About Tinatin

New York, NY

TINATIN

Born in Soviet Georgia and raised in Moscow, songwriter, artist and journalist Tinatin Japaridze has been heralded by Billboard Magazine as one of the "fresh faces to keep an eye out for in 2008.” She became a finalist in the worldwide John Lennon Song Contest and her song “Wild” was hailed as a 2007 year-end Billboard Top 10 Critics’ Pick.

She has written in Russian for the leading Russian Newspaper in America, in English for the United Nations (where she is the United Nations Radio Correspondent) and in Georgia she has both written and been written about. Now she is producing an exclusive monthly show for Break Thru Radio (www.breakthruradio.com) - Russkiy in the Mix.

As a music artist, 24-year-old Tinatin is on the verge of catapulting into mainstream success with a current dance/club hit in the UK, “Thinking of Someone Else”, and is adding final touches to her debut album with a number of the industry's top producers and scribes on both sides of the Atlantic.

Her first single, "We the Peoples," based on the United Nations charter, a bureaucratic post-war document explaining the purpose of the UN, was recently reviewed by Billboard senior correspondent Chuck Taylor, who called it "a penultimate, contemporary anthem honouring the mission of the United Nations, perhaps more relevant than ever, given the flux of worldwide politics… a resonant affirmation that politics actually have potential to unite."

Tinatin co-wrote Eurovision Song Contest’s Icelandic Entry for 2009, “Is It True”, with Christopher Neil and Oskar Pall Sveinsson. The song won the national finals by staggering 44% and will be competing with 42 European entries in the international finals to be held in Russia in May ’09.

While politics and diplomacy remains her main hobby, music of diverse genres and styles has always been Tinatin’s primary passion, source of ultimate inspiration and joie de vivre.
