Hi everyone Im glad to be a memeber of OURSTAGE,Im new here so I havent got a picture up yet or anything .I think this is the most coolest web site I have ever found and I love it.
Im a singer songwriter and Ive just formed a new band [THE TIMOTHY DOWELL BAND] and we are getting it together and focusing on my originals,I will have some material on OURSTAGE real soon.Im born and raised in Alabama been writing and playing songs for all my life,I have many influences from Jimmy Rodgers to Robert Johnson,ZZTOP,Led Zeppelin,Bad Company,well just to name a few I could go on and on but you get the picture.I guess if you tried to put my music in a catagory it wouldnt just be in one it would be in many, I myself call it [ORIGINAL CLASSIC SOUTHERN ROCK ALTERNITIVE COUNTRY BLUES].Those of you that have songs on OURSTAGE Im in the judges chamber checking all of you out and there is some very talented singer songwriters and musicians here and its very difficult.All the fans really have a hard but fun job sorting through all the music,KEEP IT UP LOUD MY FRIENDS you are doing a great job....I cant just talk about myself when it is all a team effort, I have three dedicated great musicians that love playing my original songs.The drummer,Mick Thomason and I have been playing together for about twentyfive years,the bass player Noah Galanty and on rythym and lead guitar and back up vocals,Jimmy,[the california kid] have been with me for about six months now,we have only made one public appearence and got great reviews.My musical talent is inherited,my mom writes poetry and my grandmother wrote poetry and my grandaddy [Don Packer] sang and played but he never wrote anything down unfortunatly,all his originals were kept in his head and were lost along with him when he died untimely when I was eleven years old and he was really my biggest influnce of all.He was a big [Hank Williams] fan, and so am I,Ive been listening to Hank since I was a little baby through my grandaddy,may he rest in peace [he was a wild one]and I miss him still.So you see this not about just me,its about you and me and the music that is as much visual as it is audio,a feeling and a passion of love for the art that is from the heart and good for the soul.
Ive played alot of clubs and Ive always stuck to my originals and I was so glad to find a web site where musicians,artist,and singer songwriters can show case their talent.
