October 2009

It’s been a rather quiet 6 weeks. I know you were worried that I was abducted by aliens, but I am in California ;) In my spare time, I have mostly been sitting quietly, watching birds and lizards in a beautiful home on the hillside looking over the valley, and writing new songs. Despite the quiet, we have some exciting news!

NEWS UPDATES

1. MTV LOGO’s NewNowNext PopLab will be playing “Shame’s A Bitter Game” Video on their 9/30/09 Episode at midnight!

This is a huge deal, so please support by going to the website and watch and comment and if you can link the video on your blog or Facebook page directly from MTV. MTV counts views and hits to the videos big time.

Here’s the link for the Broadcast Premiere of my video on NewNowNext PopLab:

Thank you to all who made this video possible! Hugo, Tom, the crew, actors, Peter, Josh, Eddie, Arielle, and all of you for getting the word out!

NewNowNext PopLab is the home for party music in all its forms. It’s the glossy, brighter side to LGBT music. Radio stars, club favorites, and established and future divas blend together in an hour of music videos focusing on artists and material that matter the most to the LGBT music fan.

2. I owe you a song for September and a batch of video blogs ;) So here is the deal – I have something very exciting in the works and I have to keep it a secret ’til it’s official… Therefore, I do not have a song for September.

So what you can count on is that in October, I’ll either have some exciting news to share or I’ll have a brilliant new song for you. And perhaps both ;)

3. PLEDGE MUSIC: www.pledgemusic.com/tiffrandol – As many of you know I am participating in a wonderful project to help artists fund their records with the support of their fans, friends and family.

It would be extraordinary if you helped me by supporting this campaign and a percentage goes to FAMILY EQUALITY – www.familyequality.org

How you can do that is my buying a copy of my record in advance or some other cool package at www.pledgemusic.com/tiffrandol. There are a few offered – even Reiki ;)

Do a little advance holiday shopping and get triple Karma by supporting an artist, a charity, and buying something unique for your loved ones – like a signed copy of the album, a Reiki session, a spot in a music video or a guest spot at a recording session – tons of cool options. Currently we have $825 of $5,750 raised and it ends in 46 days.

4. A Quote That Sums It All Up: “Mind can accept any boundary anywhere. But the reality is that, by its very nature, existence cannot have any boundary, because what will be beyond the boundary – again another sky. That’s why I’m saying skies upon skies are available for your flight. Don’t be content easily. Those who remain content easily remain small: small are their joys, small are their ecstasies, small are their silences, small is their being. But there is no need! This smallness is your own imposition upon your freedom, upon your unlimited possibilities, upon your unlimited potential. Nobody is here to fulfill your dream. Everybody is here to fulfill his own destiny, his own reality.” – Osho

Thanks and Love to you,

Tiff

August Theme: Self-Centered

This is my favorite song so far from the collection. It is sassy, powerful, fun and a fine display of one of my biggest personal breakthroughs so far. As much as I may come off as doing and saying whatever I please, underneath it all, I aim to please. Yep, I hate to admit it, but I’m a people pleaser.

In the past couple of months, something has changed for me. I used to seek advice from 15 people before I made any major decision in my life. Part of it is that I want EVERYTHING and the other part is that I never want to make the wrong choice. Problem is – all 15 of those people have their own opinions, and none of them mine. ;)

So, for the first time in my life, I am officially over it! I don’t know what happened – honestly I think it may have been a combination of Reiki and many things that have happened since moving to California. Bottom Line: I just feel different. I don’t have that desire to ask people’s opinions. My gut is running the show – and it feels amazing.

Therefore, the theme of the month is SELF-CENTERED. This is a word that I think is sorely misunderstood by a lot of people pleasers ;) Break it down: Centered in yourself. My mom always said – you have to hug yourself before you can hug others ;)

Pronunciation: -ˈsen-tərd
