Thyateira is and always will be an ongoing mission to restore the fundamentals of metal.
Formed in the summer of 2007 in the town of Crystal Lake IL, the members brought to the table everything they had to offer with no hesitation. all members, with ages ranging from 19-21, did not waste anytime to get their foot in the door of the musical industry to show that they have something to prove.
Getting right to work in the first few forming weeks, Thyateira wrote most of their first full length album “Beholder”, which was recorded at BOTA studios in the spring of 2008 and released september 2008. BOTA studios founder, former Fleshold/The Atomic Fireballs guitarist Don Byczynski (a.k.a dB), jumped on the Thyateira project to help strategically manage the band into the musical world.
So far, accomplishing such feats as campaigning “Beholder” in 500 radio markets all over North America, the band has already begun their first steps of exposure to the world. Exploring new markets, the band has worked with director Chuck Brueckmann of Obey Media to record a music video for their single “Through Dark Eyes” and will begin production on a new music video for their newest single “Sincerely, The Selfless” in November 2009.
The band has also worked with former Killing Joke/ Nine Inch Nails/ Pig Face drummer Martin Atkins in recording the cover track “The House That Pain Built” for an up coming Killing Joke Compilation album.
Thyateira has also begun production on a yet untitled winter 2009 E.P. which will include their latest single “Sincerely, The Selfless” and 2 other tracks. Working again with Don Byczynski and Bota Studios, they are also working alongside acclaimed producer James Murphy (ex-Testement guitarist) on the production of the E.P.
With all disregard to any boundaries or limitations, Thyateira is nothing short of a thriving powerhouse whom have only just begun their relentless endeavor to greatness.
