Midwest country music favorites The White Saddle Band will mark 30 years in the country music game in 2010. Formed in 1980, The White Saddle Band has worked steadily around the Midwest region through the 80’s, 90’s, and 2000’s, playing everywhere from concert venues and music festivals to nightclubs and private parties, leaving happy and satisfied fans in their wake. The band is well-known for their unique take on the country sound and the way it incorporates many outside influences, such as Motown, pop, calypso, blues, and classic rock, into the Nashville-based sound that America has always loved, along with some original material that is unique to the current lineup. The band is gearing up for a big year in 2010 and is looking forward to doing what it has always done, which is playing the music that its fans enjoy in as many venues as possible while making new friends and revisiting old ones along the way. The present version of The White Saddle Band is the strongest in the history of the band and has been garnering rave reviews wherever it plays. Lead vocalist/bassist Rich Nelson, guitarist Mike O’Cull, drummer/vocalist Derek Crawford, and pedal steel/multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Les Urban share a sound and chemistry that most bands would die for and it is obvious at every gig the band plays. A list of past and present venues and clients would include The Chicago Bulls/United Center, The Chicago White Sox/U.S. Cellular Field, The Chicago Country Music Festival, The Wallace Bowl in Wilmette, IL, Maryville Academy, The Niles, IL Park District, and many more. The band made enough friends in 2009 to finish in the Top 5 of www.Nitelife.org Magazine’s 14th Annual Best Of The Burbs Contest for Best Country Band which was announced in April, 2010 and will also be releasing a new CD, “Three To Get Ready”, during the Summer 2010 season . The band will celebrate turning 30 all throughout the 2010 season, with CD giveaways, dance contests, listening parties, and other events all year long in an effort to share this milestone with as many fans and friends as is possible. The White Saddle Band is happy to have made it this far and has no plans to slow down. In fact, the band is gaining new momentum every day and will continue to grow and develop into the future and beyond.
