The Stretch (formerly Uncle Boogie Pants) is a Chicago based rock band whose shows put a large emphasis on improvisation. The band has been writing a library of original material that is constantly growing. With songs ranging from straight ahead rock to orchestrated mayhem, every show brings new original music, and jams that tie it all together. Their first album, Volume and Verse, has recently been completed and is receiving rave reviews.

Relix Magazine said in their May 2008 issue, "Like Phish, moe. and Umphrey's McGee before them, these guys simply rip.".

The Illinois Entertainer said "Volume & Verse" is "filled with smart pop rock tunes and electric rock chops."

The summer of 2008 is proving to be the time when they introduce them selves to a bigger audience, scoring slots at Rothbury, 10k LAkes, and two nights playing with Dave Mathews.

Rothbury, 10k lakes, Dave Mathews.....it's a crazy month.

The Stretch is ready for the 12 hour road trip from Chicago to 10KLF. Fresh off of our Rothbury show a few weeks ago we are extremetly excited to be a part of 10KLF. From everything I hear 10KLF is in an awesome setting which creates a great vibe which we are excited to be a part of it. So while I should be working at my day job I’ve pretty much completely blown off the day getting ready for 10KLF and the weekend. In fact right now I am packing up with many tough decisions…do I bring Oberon or Fat Tire, or stop along the way and grab some New Glarus brew just across the Wisconsin border.
