Hey all! I know it’s been a long time since we have posted a blog here, but we have been super busy and we handle this site ourselves so if we aren’t here it doesn’t get done.
There is some big things happening for The Stiff Wires lately and we are truely excited at our future prospects! We can’t wait to announce all of our future endevours, but for now that’ll have to wait.
One big and excting thing we can announce is this! Sunday October 4th 2009 The Stiff Wires for the first time will be making an appearance in the MuchMusic Studios at 299 Queen St West, and will be performing a song there as well. If you are in the area we hope you all come out and see us, and when you get a chance say hi!
Also come November we have two mini tours to do, and then come December it’s some much needed time off the road to do some writing and then some recording for our planned release sometime next year!
Yes big things are starting to happen, but yet the real work has only just begun. So we hope can wish us well as we wish all of well, and hopefully one day we’ll see each other at the next level!
Thank you for all of your support here, and you know who you are! Good luck to you all and stay tuned for more!

The Stiff Wires
First of all The Stiff Wires would like to congratulate all the people who received awards last night at the 7th Annual London Music Awards. Additionally we would like to congratulate the band 63 Munroe for their award in the Best Punk Band category as those are the guys that paved the way in London and beyond for bands like ours to exist and play. We were deeply honoured to just be nominated with such a great band of musicians and peers. Secondly we would like to thank all of our fans who came out and supported our performance and for all of those people who didn’t ditch out after their awards were complete. Furthermore we would like to thank The Carnies, Saveria, MC Moore, Sadia Mokri, Justin Plet, and The lovely Genevieve Fisher for their great performances and raising the bar for us. More importantly we would also like to thank and acknowledge Brian Vollmer and the Canadian Rock Legends Helix for throwing their great name and support behind this extraordinary event. It is people like Mr. Vollmer and his band that give rock and roll a good name. We would hope that as we navigate through this industry of rock and roll that we could meet and be connected to superior people like him and his band who have remained completely grounded even after all of their great success and obvious superior performing and musical skills. We as a band were deeply touched and humbled by such a great group of human beings. Many people and performers out there could take a lesson or two from these gentlemen about honour and dignity. Thank you Helix, you just made 4 fans for life! Finally we would like to thank Scene Magazine and Mr. Bret Downe for organizing and putting on a great night! Consider The Stiff Wires supporters and contributors of these London Music Awards so long as we have a career in music, and so long as you want us!
The Stiff Wires
So we are very excited for Wedensday June 10th 2009. On that night we will be taking the same stage as Canadian Rock Legends HELIX. That’s R.O.C.K. Legends at The London Music Awards. The Stiff Wires, that’s us are also nominated for the award for Best Punk Band, and we are thrilled at the prospect of taking home that award in our home town. However we do have stiff competition so anything could happen. Also we would like to thank all those voting for us here on Our Stage and making Take Me Away to Afghanistan #1 on here for the last four days so far! We hope you enjoy the song and we hope you keep it up there! What? We’re going to hope you don’t? I don’t think so. We like it and we truely appreciate your support! So wish us luck at our awards show and we’ll be sure to tell you how things went.
