Born in Baltimore, Maryland Rory moved to California at the ripe old age of one and presently resides in Atwater Village in Los Angeles. Rory has written songs for about four years now, and in that time he has made some impressive works in the Folk-Pop-Alternative vein.
The Rory Jr Band’s sound is guitar-based and melody-driven, with influences ranging from Pink Floyd, Radiohead, and Queen to Pete Seeger, Townes Van Zandt, and Ray Lamontagne; U2, Elbow, and Coldplay to The Beatles, Sam Cooke and Stevie Wonder. Rory grew up on many of these influences while gallivanting through California camping in his parent’s VW van.
The Rory Jr Band’s album Songs 4 Kakei (and other musings) is out on iTunes where one reviewer describes, “I love this album and listen to it regularly. It works great to calm the uneasy.”
