The Record: On their upcoming debut release The Record Kid manages to avoid the confines in which a typical rock/pop outfit would happily dwell. Singer Jeff Bowman states, "We didn't want to write the same sounding song over and over. The Record: On their upcoming debut release The Record Kid manages to avoid the confines in which a typical rock/pop outfit would happily dwell. Singer Jeff Bowman states, "We didn't want to write the same sounding song over and over. We wanted each track to have its own personality; to push our sound in a different direction yet collectively define it! The end result, we feel, is a diverse yet cohesive record that displays a full spectrum musically... as opposed to just a few colors!" The Story: The band formed in mid 2008 when a group of friends began writing a set of songs which would later become their debut full length. Within a month of its conception the members found themselves scraping together what little money they had in order to make things happen. Guitarist Tucker Richmond elaborates, "As soon as things really started to fall into place in the process of writing the new material, we knew we wanted to do everything in our power to put together a recording and get it out to people as soon as possible! We really love and believe in the steps we're taking as a band, and think that the record genuinely reflects who we are, both personally and musically. We want it to be a positive voice to those who come across it!" More to come! Beyond our Music: "We hope to show love to the people we encounter, in every situation and setting, as well as to show love to those we will never meet! We should all be able to unite under this common goal as the human race. Furthermore, if we have knowledge...we have responsibility! We shouldn't turn a blind eye to suffering, whether it's a continent away or a street away. If we know there are others in need...and we are able to do something about it, we should! Life is about people." -The Record Kid The Record Kid is teaming up with DRYTEARS.ORG in 2009, and is also promoting other causes and benevolent organizations as well.
