Out of Monmouth County, New Jersey, The PTC is an Alternative/Hip Hop group with an electrifying and intense sound that pulls listeners attention every time their music is played. Unlike most hip-hop groups the PTC uses a full band instead of repetitive samples and beats to create their music. The unlikely group formed when vocalist Mike Demaio linked up with vocalist James Murphy and drummer Jon VanOrden in high school to record rap records for fun over a computer microphone. The addition of DJ Dave Doucette helped add a true hip-hop culture and understanding to the group. A full backing band which includes guitarist Bobby Clifton, Corey Markowtiz on the keys and bass player Chris Malone completed the group. PTC maintains an element of mystery with the meaning of the bands name by simply leaving it as those three compelling letters. PTC describes their sound as a mixture of diverse musical backgrounds blended with the essence of each of the band member’s personal influences. PTC creates a distinct sound by mixing intricate guitar riffs and melodic vocals with record scratching and rhymes over percussion and beats.
