The Mike Wood Band has a unique sound with lots of intricate guitar and drum work with a rock blues flare. They not only compose and play their own original music, they also have an extensive repertoire of songs. Title's ranging from numerous sound genre's, such as; classic rock, southern rock, soft & hard rock, alternative, blues, instrumental, top 40, country music & many more.

The Mike Wood Band, consists of four members. They are not only members of the band but they are also all members of the Wood family tree.

Michael Wood was born in Detroit, Michigan however, Dallas, Texas has been home since 1970. Mike is a "Southern Gentleman" with strong family morals & values. He is an accomplished self taught musician. With over three decades of guitar experience and an extensive reperitoire list, Mike remains surprising modest with a genuine down-to-earth nature. He and his wife, Corie, fell in love in 1999 and have been together ever since. Together they are the proud parents of three wonderful children. Two boy's-Brandyn,26 & Kevin,20, and one girl- Elizabeth Nicole,4. In addition to raising a family, and maintaining a full time day job, Mike has always found a way to balance his passion for music too.

Throughout the years, Mike has been the front man & primary song writer for several local Texas band's.

The bands most influential in his life started in 1976 with the band "Justyn Thyme". Mike composed all of this bands original tunes during their nine years together. In 1985 his song "All My Life" received radio air play on Q102.FM's Battle Of The Band's Competition in Dallas, Texas. In 1992 the four member band lost their drummer, and the band split up. In 1993 former members of the band found a new drummer & added a fifth member to the group. This renewed band name was "Evidence". This band was together for about a year when they parted ways in 1994. In 1995 Mike was a part of a band named "Project B". This band ended production on their self titled CD in September of 1996. Shortly after their CD release in December of 1996 the band decided to go their separate ways.From 1996 - 1997 Mike worked closely with two other
accomplished artists forming the trio band M.S.P. With regret, this was short lived.

Mike's added expressive guitar riffs, incredible song writing skills & signature song style as well as his studio engineering/production knowledge have made "The Mike Wood Band" what it is today! He is and continues to be the foundation and the driving factor behind the band.

Corie Claghorn Wood, a Florida native, relocated to the Dallas area in 1999. She has over twenty five years collectivly, of private vocal training, classical piano training & musical theatre production. As a former freelance entertainer; vocalist, actress and karaoke host/ business owner. Now, a stay at home mom, she enjoys being with her family and plays piano & sings for her own enjoyment now!
